1. Introduction

Pendulyn ("we", "us", "our") operates a clock and watch repair workshop at 9 Jalan Sultan Iskandar, 30000 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect from people who use our website or make enquiries about our services, how we use that data, and what rights you have in relation to it. If you have questions about anything in this policy, please contact us at [email protected].

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect personal data only when it is provided to us directly — through the contact form on our website, by telephone, or by email. The categories of data we may collect are:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number (where provided)
  • Physical address (where provided for site visits within Perak)
  • Information about the clock — type, age, nature of fault
  • Correspondence content

We do not collect payment card data through our website. Any payment arrangements are made directly and separately.

Legal basis for processing: We process your data on the basis of your consent when you submit the contact form, and on the basis of legitimate interests and contractual necessity when progressing an agreed programme.

Retention: Enquiry data is retained for 24 months from the date of last contact. Programme records (condition notes, power reserve charts, photographic records) relating to completed work are retained for seven years.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the personal data you provide for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries about our programmes and pricing
  • To assess and carry out clock repair and service work
  • To arrange site visits within Perak where the programme includes them
  • To send written programme documentation — condition notes, power reserve charts, photographic records and maintenance calendars
  • To contact you if a fault covered by the 24-month coverage period is reported
  • To maintain workshop records for quality and operational purposes

We do not use your personal data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We may use cloud storage or email services that process data on our behalf under contractual data protection obligations.
  • Legal compliance: We may disclose data where required to do so by Malaysian law or by a lawful authority.
  • Business transfer: In the event of a change of ownership or transfer of the workshop business, personal data held at the time may be transferred to the new operator under equivalent privacy conditions.

5. Data Protection Measures

We take reasonable precautions to protect the personal data we hold:

  • Correspondence and enquiry records are stored on password-protected systems
  • Access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to carry out their work
  • Where data is transmitted electronically, we use secure connections where available
  • In the event of a data breach that may affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the timeframes required by Malaysian law

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to store your consent preference and, where analytics tools are active, to understand how visitors use the site. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through our Cookie Policy page, which includes controls for each cookie category.

7. Your Rights Under Malaysian Law

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), you have the following rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you:

  • Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to correct: You may request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where we process your data on the basis of consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
  • Right to limit processing: You may ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commissioner of Malaysia if you believe your data has been processed in breach of the PDPA.

To exercise any of these rights, please write to us at [email protected] or by post to our workshop address. We will respond within 21 days.

8. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to external websites — for example, mapping services for our location. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have done so inadvertently, we will delete that data promptly.
